Stevia, biological name Stevia rebaudiana (Bertoni) Hemsl. Perennial herb, 100-150cm high. Stems erect, semi-lignified at the base, about 1cm thick, and many branches. Leaves opposite; sessile; leaves obovate to broadly lanceolate, 5-10cm long and 1.5-3.5cm wide.

It is native to the alpine grasslands of the border between Paraguay and Brazil in South America. It is now planted in Beijing, Hebei, Shaanxi, Jiangsu, Fujian, Hunan, Yunnan and other places.
